The Next Generations
The next generations of Intel Core processors consist of the 14th and 15th, with the code-names Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake, respectively. They are planned to be released in the years 2023 and 2024. The 14th gen Intel processor will adhere to a new socket type (LGA 2551) which will support the 12th and 13th-generation CPUs. They are expected to be 20% more efficient than the current processors and will be designed to tackle its competitor, the Ry zen 5.

Next to Processor, you will see your chipset listed. You will see your processor information and, the first number after i3, i5, or i7 lets you know what generation you have.
Threads in a computer processor are the virtual components or codes, which divides the physical core of a CPU into virtual multiple cores. A single CPU core can have up-to 2 threads per core. For instance, if a CPU is dual-core (i.e., 2 cores) it will have 4 threads. Every time you open an application, a thread is created to handle all the tasks of that specific application. Kernel threads
These threads are handled within the kernel of the operating system and lets the operating system perform tasks simultaneously. Kernel threads need to access the operating system itself.
User threads
These threads are handled without kernel support and are created within applications that programmers and developers use to allow processes to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
